H10 20Gb - locked and frozen

I've been having endless problems with my H10 6Gb, so when I saw a refurbished 20Gb available for a reasonable price, I bought it. Seemed to be fine at first, tho' with a few WMP crashes when loading certain albums, so I moved over to Windows Explorer drag and drop. However, completely unexpectedly, just while playing, the machine first of all completely locked itself up - it displayed a lock symbol for about a second, when rebooted, and then went blank. I've now connected it to the PC and althoughit starts initialising, it then freezes on themain menu screen. No controls work - can't even turn it off. I was prepared to try the EasyH10 software, and to replace the firmware - but the H10 isn't even being recognised as a drive by Windows Explorer. Anyone had this problem before and any suggestions ?

Thanks

Squid

Have now tried this - the Gb 20 version of the UMS trick I've just realised. PC did recognise H10 on G drive; I ran 'fix system files' in windows, backed up music, uploaded / restored firmware 2.51, copied on a test CD, ran EasyH10 -and now seem to be back exactly where I started, with the H10 giving me the 'locked' graphic when I turn on / reboot, or freezing on the opening screen in (non-UMS) PC connect mode !
What do you think I could do next ?
Many thanks

make sure the hold switch is off (if on should be causing the lock symbol)

Duuuhhh .... a Homer Simpson moment. Yes, that was the problem. Exit, in several shades of embarrassment. But still have to sort out the H10 6Gb (a different thread.)
Many thanks Devyanks
