'System Files missing' disaster
Help ! I now have a completely inoperable H10 ! My starting point was a lot of what seemed to be corrupt files on my UK-bought 6Gb H10, originally running MTP. I ran DataBase update (as per manual) which proceeded to wipe all info appearing under 'Artists', 'Albums' and "titles', just leaving me with the use of the browser. After a sugggestion from iMG (thanks) I tried running EasyH10 to restore them, but no luck. Cutting my losses,I deleted all my music planning to reload it (its all sitting on one PC) and, thinking to make the re-loading process easier, I first upgraded my firmware to MTP 2.51, and then (following the Wiki instructions) tried to convert from MTP to UMS. It seemed to work OK (in that the opening screen now says 'UM 1.10' except now (and its a big 'except') I'm getting the 'system Files Missing - to restore the system files connect H10 to Iriver plus' message. I can't get beyond this screen. I've tried running EasyH10 again, and I've done (I think) the Ted Yo! device enumeration quick fix. I don't mind going back to MTP - but I can't reverse the process ! And I don't know where I can access iriver plus (I assume this is software sold with new UMS machines). Any suggestions ? Sorry to ramble on, but everything I do seems to make things worse.
Many thanks Squid Last edited by squidlet11 : January 26th, 2007 at 04:01 PM. |

Try This...
Try this. It worked for me!
I fixed "system file missing" on H10 pure 5gig! As for the songs not showing up in "Music", try checking the little bubble in easyh10 that rebuilds the database, not updates it. Not sure this will help, but let's hope it does! Cheers! Adam |
