Someone discussed it a while back. It should be fairly similar to the h300's since the rockbox tech pages list the same battery model for both the H300's and the H10 20gig models. You should be able to use an ipod replacement battery (for 1st or 2nd gen ipods) in the h10, providing it will fit.

H10/20GB battery
At the moment the oroginal battery lasts longer than 3 hours so I guess I should wait until it goes below 3 hours before I attempt to replace it.
I didn't understand the comment made above, regarding the possibility of using an IPOD battery providing that it would fit. Either it fits or it won't fit, is it realy an unknown ? |

The ipod batteries tend to work on the H3xx series. There are a couple of threads that have the battery showing on the H10, from disassembly. You could also go to Rockbox.org, and there should be some pictures/specifications on the physical size, and charge of the battery. If you need help, I would ask someone for directions on the IRC channel there. Not enough people have changed the battery on this to actually know.

yochaytzur: here is a link to the battery I purchased when I replaced mine recently. It doesn't list the H10 as supported on the little sticker on the package it comes in, but it works perfectly and fits fine, though the leads to the connector are a bit longer than needed and will need to be carefully tucked out of the way when you put it back together. They also send a T5 security torx driver with it so you can open up the player to replace the battery. There are disassembly guides on this site if you need to know how to take the player apart to get to the battery, just do a search for them.

So far I've averaged about 10 and a half hours, using Rockbox with MP3's encoded at about an average of 160kbps (is a mix of anything from 128kbps to 192kbps, plus a few VBR files in there as well...), at about -35dB volume and minimal backlight use. I'm currently working on doing a time test again in an attempt to track a decent average...

Okay, I didn't end up draining the battery completely before I ended up going to bed for the night, but I finished draining it earlier today. I got a decent 11 hours and 42 minutes, approximately, based on Rockbox's running time indicator. Considering this is Rockbox I'm running and it uses more battery power than the OF I'd say that's fairly adequate.
