H10 20 GB (Red) Firmware
Hello Folks,

I just purchased an iRiver H10 20 GB MP3/WMA player. I have noticed that the installed firmware from the factory is 1.51 PFD. On iRiver's webpage, it shows that the latest firmware is 2.51.

After browsing through this forum, I'm getting the feeling that 2.51 is very buggy and 2.10 is generally preferred. (Please correct me if I'm getting the wrong idea!)

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a place where I can download v2.10? Also, just for clarification, my player was purchased in Canada (I'm guessing this would make it the USA model)

Check the Wiki for H10 firmwares. I have not had any problem with 2.51 or most people here, the problems are from people complaining.

It is usually easiest to use the iriver firmware updater. If you go to iriveramerica.com, and support, you can download it from there. You can also manually download the files, if you would like a UMS player and it is currently MTP (might want to read the directions here first though).

Just to update all: I downloaded firmware 2.51 and all is well. I just downloaded the firmware from iRiver's website.

Install went well and everything seems to be working great! *touch wood*.

Now you will have problems, because you only touched the magic wood instead of asking for entrance into the sacred halls of h10 problemless-ness by knocking .

2.51 seems fine on mine too!
