Connetion problems
Hi guys, My H10 isn't connecting properly...it connects just fine in Emergency connect mode but not normally... I connect it and it pops up in My Computer but it reads 0 bytes and I am unable to open it to upload music, but as I said in Emergency connect mode I can open it...I have actually be up loading music that way recently. I have tired running the recovery tool on it..and also reinstalling the firmware with no success...and also I completely formatted it and reinstalled the firmware from scratch. Any ideas, I would be very happy not having to take this one back again.
Thanks Brendan |

I believe you have the MTP version? (Did the package include a windows media player 10 CD?) I got a H10 6GB MTP version too, and the removable disc won't show up in My Computer unless its in emergency mode (UMS mode). This means you need to use windows media player 10 or higher to transfer music, unless you do the UMS trick (emergency mode) or convert your H10 5/6 GB to UMS (This will void your warranty.)

Yes i have an MTP version sorry i forgot to mention that, and also i had been using Windows media play to transfer music pervious to this happening...and right now my warranty is almost up so i really have no worries about voiding it.
I apologize if this seems disrepectful, i do appreciate your help i just don't know how else to explain it. |

Are you sure you put the right firmware on there? Maybe you accidentally put the UMS one on there (spitballing)? Do you need the player to be an MTP player for DRM purposes, or could you just permanantly convert it to MTP (since your warranty is almost up anyway)? This seems like it could solve your problems. I have found EasyH10 along with the Emergency connect to be the easiest way to transfer music to my computer.

Try it on a different PC - if you have the same problem, it's likely the device. If it doesn't happen let me know and we'll start troubleshooting your PC.
Note: While in MTP mode it can take a while to say anything other then 0 bytes free. The real test is if you can transfer files.
