Hi all, I am new to iriver and have just ordered a H10 20gb. I am in the UK and the H10 is US spec. I know that the AC adaptor will be different but will I need a new AC adaptor (UK version)? Will I need a power converter USA to UK? or will a travel type adaptor work?
Secondly does anyone know what other (if any) differences there are between the US and UK models? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve |

If you look at the AC adaptor it will say 110 - 250V and so will work on any system, world wide.
The only problem is the plug configuration. So you need a plug converter, they are very cheap a

Thanks for the info. If the adaptor is 110/240 then a plug converter should be perfect (an cheapest !) solution.
I am very much a virgin to this, but what is UMS and MTP and what is the difference? Steve |

ok, basically, UMS stands for Universal Mass Storage or something like that, and means the h10 acts like a normal usb drive. MTP stands for Media Transfer Protical, and only works with Windows Xp. MTP players can play DRM encrypted songs, while UMS cant (i think).
woops. just realised you said you are getting a 20gb player. ALL 20gb models are MTP, so you dont need to worry about all the UMS stuff if you have any other questions, feel free to ask |

learn the UMS trick, which can be found in my siganture. trust me, it is bloody helpfull
errrr.... and downloadeasyh10, again, theres a link in my signature when you connect your h10 into UMS mode, and load music onto it, you have to use easyh10 to update the database of the h10, or, the newly added music will not show up, accept in the browser, not under Music. for me, transfering music in UMS mode is a lot quicker, so i always use that method hope that helps itsmeguys |
