H10 20gb Line-In Time Limit

I have a new H10 20gb with upgraded 2.51 firmware. I like to record sources using the cradle with line-in. I have noticed the recordings have stopped at times, the last ones I checked stopped at 12 hours. I use the lowest quality setting 128kbs. I have checked the settings for timers and such that would do this and can find none. Am I missing something? Thanks for any and all replies, Tom.

What exactly are you recording that is over 12 hours? It might just be a file time limit.

Hi thanks for the reply. I record local radio broadcasts including talk shows, baseball games and I am not around to attend the unit so I was hoping to record for several days and then edit the mp3 later. If there is a time or file limit then the H10 20gb will not do what I purchased it for.

its probably in the firmware. most people do not leave line-in recordings going for more than a few hours, leaving 12 as a good limit. if i did my math right (unlikely) a 12 hour recording at 128kbps is ~675MB

I am not sure that it would take a lot to check it twice a day, pause and restart during station ID, which would leave around 8 hr recordings.

Is there a possibility of changing to a hacked firmware that would increase the file limit? Does anybody have any experience with third party firmware to change the H10 20gb functions or specs?

No, there is no hacked firmware. Check the H10 modding thread on the main page, it discusses what has been done. There is a font customizer, and if you are willing to attempt it, there is a skinning program, but the experience is that it seems to brick MTP players (which all 20 gb ones are). Sorry.
