Hard disc?

im sitting at the computer looking for something to buy - iriver h10 20GB looks like what i wnat but please answer me this - is it a portable hard disc drive too. ie can i put vidoe files or text etc files onto it and transfer to other computers?

Please Read!

Im going travelling and was going to buy an iriver h10 20GB model to take with me - i also want a external portable hard disc that i can transfer data from one computer to another in mpeg files, and other common files - does the i river act as a external portable hard disc drive too? oh and how long does it take to set up etc, i leave in 4 days so have little time

windows Explorer transfer

i currently have a sony hi-md and absoluted the software -it was slow, crashed the system, and didnt let many music file types used (even when they were the same format as others that had worked) can iriver transfer files in a simple drag and drop mode in explorer or does it have specific software? thanks

uh...the t10 isn't the 20GB model.

as for the H20 - the UMS model's can do the external hard drive stuff. and i know there's a trick to make the MTP models UMS. as for where you can get a UMS vs. MTP models...i'm not sure.

I see why you needed the information fast. You most probably wanted the information before time ran out on what you wanted to get. When you can send mail, in the future that may work best if you need information right away.

if you want to buy a 20gb model, then no, it is not a USB portable device type of thing. only the 5/6gb models can do that. it depends on where the device is from ...

if you're looking for something to act as an external, you could pick up a 320/340 off of ebay and other various places - they act very well as an external drive...but you might have trouble a) finding one b) getting one in time.
