Does the H10 charge itself when.....

.....the USB is connected to the PC? I was synching last night and I noticed that after 1 hour the battery was showing full. I have not plugged in the AC supply, just the USB connector.

for the past year i thought i had to have the ac adaptor connected to charge, which of course meant that i would only charge the unit at home. but just last week i realized that i can charge the unit with only the usb cable. the unit will take longer to reach a full charge, but who cares, it works and it's easier to transport.

I just got my H10. I noticed the charging too. I read the manual, It doesnt explain enough detail on the items I dont know about. Directions on programming a radio station - good. Description of the SRS settings - crap.

i have been told by the iriver tech in australia that the 5gig will charge from USB but they dont recommend it as they have had people who have experienced 'spiking' when doing this. it may be older versions not sure. doesnt sound healthy

i don't think you can and if you can it would involve the amount of power from the computer put through the USB outlet, which would involve a lot of skill to fix (i wouldn't)

Isn't there an option in Windows to limit the power supplied to a USB port? But you better be careful with that, I am not sure if that does good to your H10.

The more options for charging the better, to me.
I wish mine had come with a car charger instead of the AC wall charger.
