Safe way to disconnect usb cable

Hi,
I seem to recall that there is some kind of safe way to disconnect the usb cable connecting the computer to the H10.
Right now if I want to disconnect the H10 from the pc I just turn off the pc, then pull out the usb connection.

But, I don't want to have to turn off the computer everytime I want to disconnect the USB link. Does anyone know how to safely disconnect the usb cable from the H10. Are you supposed to do something on the computer or are you forced to shut the computer off every time?

OK, since these things are so fragile I just wanted to make sure I wasn't giving it an excuse to screw everything up on me.

Just make sure that whatever you're using to sync your music with is closed. That's how I do it. Usually once I close WMP it will tell me that I can now disconnect.

Not for MTP players. Usually after sitting for up to 5 min, doing nothing, the H10 will finally say ok to Disconnect. If it doesnt look to be doing anything, and the player is just sitting attached, you should be fine unplugging it.
