What OS are you using? If you're using anything short of Windows XP, you'll need to put the player into UMS mode...

ohio, you should do as true journals said, put the player into ums mode, then add your music, then you will have to update the database of the h10 with easy, which can be found here

Based on this quote, if you want to connect it in MTP mode, you will need to use a powered hub.

In what way did it not work? Did you see a thread with 200 or so replies?

Yeah you gotta hold the "o" button and the power button, and then hold it together...

2.51 pfd is your firmware version. This is the latest firmware. It would not be the cause of your PC not recognizing your H10. Having the player formatted differently also would not be a problem (and is not possible... seeing how the player works).

You said that you can listen to the music on the player... How can you get music on it if your PC doesn't recognize it? Your problem is quite confusing, and we need more details. Try UMS mode again: take the battery out, plug the player into USB, put the battery back in, and press power and old the "O" button on the player. On the screen, the words "Emergency Connection" should show up, and it should go to the "USB Connected" screen.

Yes it is. I have explained it in my thread and already offered the solution in this one.

Sorry for the terse response I was running late when i was posting that. The 2.51 firmware had a regression where the device is misreporting its power requirements (via saying that it is a self powered device rather then a bus powered device). The manifestation of this is on some computers it won't show the USB connected screen and will never attempt to connect. The only way to fix it is to use a powered hub or use older firmware. Also, the non-US firmware seems to be more prone to the problem then the US firmware.

Ah, I was wondering why I never had problems... I always plug my H10 into a powered hub... Would it be possible to just plug in the AC adapter in addition to the USB cord to fix this?
