H10 gone wrong

My H10 5Gb has gone very wrong. Ireformatted my computer recently and hooked up the device to it but windws said data read failure. Now the device shows artists in the menu but no music. It seems to have disappeared. I tried to update the firmware but that failed too and windows wouldn't let me reformat the device.

What player do you have, is it MTP or UMS. If its MTP you might be able to do the UMS trick and then format it, then reinstall your firmware.

Ithink it must be UMS since it appears as a drive under windows but appears as a totally blank drive under windows with no folders so I can't format it.
