Smile 20GB H10 for $150.00 USD

As of today Office Depot has a deal where you can purchase the 20gb Iriver H10 for $150. This is a great deal considering I purchased my 6gb H10 for $25 more in November.

staples also has it on sale without sending in rebates ($180.00) but the office depot deal with rebates ($299.99 - $150 in rebates = $149.99) is a better deal if you don't mind rebates

I looked at the deal. $150 in rebates is too much! I've played the rebate game at least 30 times this year including once on the H10 from Woot. They hold your money, it's a pain in the rear and some companies like to play any game they can to avoid paying. Sorry I ranted but I hate rebates!

Better yet, do what I did: price match Office Depot to the Staples sale price and use an Office Depot coupon, and get it for $10 after rebates!

$299.99 - $120 price match to staples = $179.99 - $30 off $150 Office Depot coupon = $149.99 + $10.50 tax (7% FL) = $160.49 - ($70 + $80 rebates) = $10.49 final price!

I picked up two of them. Looks like I might finally be replacing the H120 I've been using for two years.

FYI, most Office Depots wont do a price match or if they do, they will try to void the rebates. Not sure if they can since these are iRiver rebates but $150 in rebates is too risky for me.

For those less daring as myself, you can buy the iRiver from staples for $150 w/o rebates. As you know from previous posts, Staples is selling the 20gb for $180. I had a coupon for $30 off of $150 from staples. $180-$30=$150. You can either do this in the store or online with free shipping. The coupon I had is widely available on ebay for $5. FYI, I am not selling any so this is not a plug for me. Just info for anyone who wants to buy an h10 at a good price.

I have another coupon that is $20 off of $150 that I would be happy to give to someone if they are interested. It is a printable coupon that gets sent to my email b/c I susbscribe to staples mailing list (same way I got the $30 one). PM me if interested.

hotstuff, u got real lucky if that worked for u.

ive been in retail for 3yrs now, and ive been with best buy, circuit city, radio shack, and non of our stores would price match on a product in that situation because of the rebates. we would def. void the rebates. you might have gotten lucky and gotten some1 who didnt know what they were doing, and most likely got in some deep $hit for doing so.

try it ppl, if it works, sweet!!! u got a nice nice nice deal. but i doubt it will work for 99% of you

I bought the H10 yesterday for 29.99$!

The Office Depot it went to matched Staples with their 179.99$ and I still got my 150$ mail in rebates from Office Depot. The girl at the register explicitly asked the manager who made the price match if I still would get the mail in rebates – and he said yes…

YEAH!

I did the same thing in Chicago. The woman behind the counter said "Good for you!"

With that said. I'm having a good time working my way around this little machine. There have been a few glitches but it seems to be running well now.

I buy stuff w/rebates a lot, and am meticulous about tracking them, so I don't get ripped off, and I've found CompUSA to be very sketchy about refusing to pay when I've met all of the submission criteria.

Also have issues with their limited supply, "close-out" loss-leaders. One hour into a sale they'll tell you the item in the ad was a close-out (which it does say in the ad, rather small), and has run out. However, it will reappear in the ad several weeks later. If it is a close-out that runs out, how can they sell it again? I personally find them to be basically immoral, but they're the only game in town for a lot of stuff.

OD is one of my least favorite stores so if they are willing to get rid of the h10's for $10 0r $20 that is a good thing.
