Question ARRRGGGG! Yet another issue w/my H10 20gig

Man, I hope someone can help me. I have called Iriver support before and they are worthless. All they tell you to do is reset the player. Anyway, my latest issue is my player will be playing a song and the audio will short-out and either go to the left or right channel. I thought it might be the jack, but if I hit forward to the next song, it plays correctly. Then does the same thing a couple of songs later. I am so sick of reformatting and having to re-install my library. Any suggestions? Please help!

Thanks,

Guy

Yes, I have reset many times, as well as reformatted. I was up until 3am last night, reloading my library. There has to be an easier way. I have talked with a couple of friends who have other MP3 players and they have never had as many problems as I have had with my IRiver. I am about to give up.

It will play fine for a bit then "pop" and go to either the left or right chanel. If I forward to the next rack it will start out fine then about half way through the song do the same thing. I wiggled the headphone jack, and it does not make a difference.

If your music is not corrupt it could be a hardware problem. If it's still under warranty you might want to sent it in for service.

What audio ripper are you using? Exact Audio Copy is favored here, is free, and does a real good job at encoding music.

I know most that buy these things are completely void of any computer knowledge, but come on! Different headphones? Shure earbuds, an IRiver FM transmittter, and RCA's going into my home stereo. If I send it in for service, how long does it take to fix/get back? I have seen a couple threads on here about bypassing or using a different programs.... is Exact Audio Copy one of these? I am currently using the napster to go and WMP. I know all the tech heads don't like either, but ya know when you buy a product that says its compatible, you expect the software would be a little more sturdy. After staying up late last night, reloading my library, its the same BS today. I called support and they said they would e-mail me with instructions for sending it in for service, but I never got any e-mails from IRiver. Thanks for the advice, so far you have been a ton more helpful than customer support. All they know how to do is tell you how to reset the H10 with a paperclip. Geee thanks!

Peace!
Guy

if you send your h20 into iriver, i dont think it takes that long to get returned. i live in australia, and i bought my h10 6gb in america, when it was fried (my fault, but i didnt tell iriver that ), they allowed me to send it to them in america. all in all, i was without my iriver for two weeks, which is pretty good i reckon.

Cool, I guess I might have to give it a try. (sending it in) Hope all is well in Austrailia!!! While you are there, could you tell the Wiggles to just STOP!!! I have a 2 1/2 year old who clearly is fighting an addiction. Its non-stop at our house. If I hear "Fruit Salad", or "Big Red Car" one more time there is no telling what could happen! HA! Take care!

Peace!
Guy
