Atlernative Buy for USB 2.0 Cable?
Hey guys I was wondering if there is an alternative to iriveramerica.com to buy the USB Cable 2.0 or MP3UK site?
Is there another online store or retail store (NYC :P) that i can buy it from?

You can buy USB cables in every computer store. Unless is is a special USB for the H10, but is it is a regular one, any cable you can buy in a computer store should work.

Because then when you loose the cable, you have to pay over the odds for the one with the special connector. Its like the DAP equivalent of charging you next nothing for the printer, then sending you plummetting into debt when you start buying the ink.

I relise that, but I wouldn't go near any daps like that. The major things I look for in anything (cameras, DAPS, phones etc...) is that it is reconigsed as a mass storage device, or removable media, so I can drag and drop, and USB 2.0.

I just bought the USB cable from Gomadic.
Your positive i am able to charge the H10 through my computer right? It is not like the retail cable that comes split into 2 one for the AC adapter and socket A for syncing..... It is just a straight connection - computer to player

yes, you can charge the player via USB only but it will take longer

Don't think its that much longer, since when you're on the computer, time seems to fly.
But it shouldn't be longer than 2 hours.

Question I bought the H10 off my friend. Now that i am waitin to receive my usb cable the battery is fully used i believe because when i try to turn it on it doesnt even show "low battery".
Is it fine to just hook it up to the computer and charge it? Im pretty sure this isnt the first charge but the battery is fully used.

Hi, you will need the special usb cable. It's absolutely ok to charge from a computer. If it isn't switching on at all at the moment, it might be worth doing a reset - the software does have a habit of 'falling over'!

huh what? reseting it? Its not switching on because the battery if fully used. I was just wondering it would need some juice to charge from the computer instead of the AC adapter.....
What do you mean by "falling over"?

let it charge for a while first before transfering files, since the hard drive spins while transfering, in turn using more power.

ebay folks... they got 2 flavors I saw... the cabel itself with the AC connection (i think they put the AC side on the wrong end myself) And they have the special connector with an AC adaptor.. No PC ability.
(why couldnt they have just done us a favor with a standard every day connection)
