Iriver H10 20GB

Okay, Might as well start from the top. I bought my Iriver H10 20GB in May of last year. It was working fine, until just recently. I have had problems with it Playing One song. The song is there i can click on it to have it play, it will go to the playing screen and will just stay stopped. Okay on to the More Serious question, When ever i use the scroll pad, and move the highlighted bar after i take my finger off the bar will move down a few songs, artists etc(depends on menu). Also when i turn it on sometimes i wont be able to even use the Scroller, it just wont respond. So i turn it off and if it doesnt work ill do it again until it eventually does. I have not messed with my player at all other then syncing songs and installing firmware 1.10 and be aware the problem existed before i installed this firmware.

Thank you for your help

PS its been doing it for a month or so... i dont even use it becuz of it

sad...
I think there's a problem with the scroll pad...
I would try to pass my finger roughly over the scroll pad a few times and see if it works...
If not, you can just get the player fixed cuz the warranty is atleast 1 yr and maybe even 3....

UMS trick: connect the player while it's off to the USB cable, reset the player, while turning the player on - press OK button(O) 'till your cumputer "discovers" the USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE (UMS-D).... Now: in the top bar of the player's window press Tools---->Folder Options---->View(tab)---> View Hidden Files and Folders
Proper Icon for your H10 !

your song file is corrupt, get it off the player
there may be a problem with the scrollpad but check the lock switch first before RMA'ing it

I think file nameing has an issue with MTP. I have an MP3 that will play on my old player, and the PC, no pops, but when I try to load it in a play list the files stop transferring all together... no idea why. I think it has to do with #ing

Sory Damann I had the same problem sticky song and scroll bar and the only way to solve it was to re-format the drive because even when I had deleted the song the song (the Who by the way) the scroll would not goes past the point where said song was in the listings.

The file name itself won't matter to MTP. The metadata in the file can make quite a difference though. Check to see if Artist + Album + Song Title > 260 characters - most players can't handle this. If that isn't it, try editing any peice of metadata in explorer (like comments) and save it. This will cause all metadata to be rewritten properly if any of it was malformed. If neither of these do this trick I'd be interested in knowing what is special about your file.

Help Me Please!
I have a problem with my slider control/volume control too. I didn't download any new songs or anything. One day the volume just started going up and when i turn it down it goes up again. Even on the main menu list it keeps going up as well. If i move it down to settings or any other menu item, it will automatically scroll back up. What do I need to do to fix the problem. I reinstalled the lates firmware and it still does so. What do I need to do to fix this. Any solid answers out there. Anyone fixed this problem before?

I too am having the same problem with the scroller, one person said reformatting his did the problem?? I dont see how that will solve something like the scroller problem but i will try it. Also if that theory doesnt work shall I send it to iriver to get it fixed? I dont know how long the usual warranty is but i got mine in March is it still liable?
