Mac OS X 10.3.9 H10 [20GB color]

Ok I have been reading allot of info on this forum for a few days now (And I mean allot of time, ask the mods lol)
But anyways

I have just received my own ickle h10 20 GB in slate grey from amazon.co.uk (that’s cost me £139.00 inc of VAT delivered) and arrived 2 days early on their free delivery service. But moving on....

I was expecting something allot bigger from what I had read in the various forums. In fact it was quite small compared to the creative jukebox I had repaired for a friend a few weeks ago (damaged headphone socket), which is a common fault, I am told.

The next surprise came with the Information available by individuals who interact with the forums like our own. This might come as a shock but if you apply even a small amount of the knowledge found here and accept the results, you find yourself happier then most.

What I have learned:
1: h10 20 Gig does work with OS X in USB Mass Storage mode.

You can drag and drop with finder in OS X once the device is mounted

once uploaded files can be found using the IRivers Browser

Will EasyH10 run on your Mac? That might move them over to the Music Section.

It runs fine but there seems to be a glitch in the database

Okies as far as testing goes I am making progress.
The latest firmware (V2.51) is buggy as hell. I personally have experienced the following:
1. random freezes, which require a reset (insertion of a pin or paperclip into the small hole next to the lock button)

2. backlight failing after going to standby along with no volume (screen appears to be working) just can't see it

3. eratic volume after multiple adjustment (including custome EQ etc)

4. File trans is a pain at the minute, again random lock ups have occured (in both WMP and UMS)

5. Most of these faults can be sorted by a simple reset but i intend to work with a few others to rectify the firmware issues which are the root of the problems

6. This little player gave me a real hard time at first , as it was Micro$haft supported. after playing a little and gaining some ground on the critics, i found myself in love with it.

7. Ditch the standard phones , they are quality by some means but shite in the long run , sure e4's are good if ya got the cash but if your into bass then throw 20 squid at sony MDR-EX71. << not a touch on sure but value for bass is good )

8. If your after a good allround player without the shit and lack of character buy what your heart desires

If on the other hand you are looking at an Honest offering with versatility and customization this might be the one for you .

With exceptional sound quality and deep rich controlled bass you cannot go wrong (and this is with cheap sony phones ) :P
