All my music is stored on iTunes...!
Hi all,
Just got myself an iRiver h10 6gb, an update of my iPod mini. Am very disappointed to learn (on this site) that my h10 can't be sync'd with iTunes, but that causes another problem I couldn't find the answer to... How do I get all my music onto my iRiver? I tried using the software but all i could do is add music from a file/folder stored on my PC. Unfortunately it seems I have only about 10% of my music stored there, which means I got that amount of music onto my iRiver, but what about the rest of it? What do I do? Thanks in advance for your help on what I am sure is a pretty dumb question |

All your music has to be stored in a folder somewhere. Try looking in your 'iTunes' folder in 'My Music'. That is iTune's default location for placing music. Music you bought through the iTunes Music Store will NOT work with the H10.

Ok well here's the thing... I really don't think ALL my music is stored anywhere - I don't know how but check this out:
I tried START --> SEARCH --> PICTURES MUSIC OR VIDEO --> MUSIC --> SEARCH And it returned 641 files (which is a lot more than the ~100 I have in my iTunes folder, so that's good), but I have 860 songs on iTunes. So I still have about 220 songs missing...? Where could they be? |

If you bought any songs with iTunes... you can put them on your H10, but it'll be a little tricky. [Moderator's note: information about bypassing DRM schemes deleted. Please read the Mistic River posting guidelines which are located in an announcement at the top of each forum.]

Okay, fellas, iTunes can be annoyingly stupid in that point. By default it will not copy files into the iTunes folder.
To copy your ilfes into your H10, just use explorer to open Media>Music (As long as it's in UMS mode...) then sync with EasyH10. Dragging from the iTunes window will copy it no matter where it's stored on your PC. Even better, if you want to use the included software, iriver plus, just choose "Advanced>Consolidat e Library and it will copy all your music into the iTunes folder. Then just point EasyH10 to the iTunes folder and let it do it's magic. Purchased music will not work on the H10 sadly, but if it's in m4a and unprotected, you can fix it by simply chooseing the "Convert selection to MP3" option in the right-click menu in iTunes. That's all the info i can give you for the moment, i hav to go.. try that anyway hopefully at least most of your music will work. I should really make a tutorial when i get back.. meh.

itunes has software (3rd party) that lets you read the DB. from your Ipod... not sure the name.. I dont own an ipod
As for ways of using your purchased music anyway you see fit....(ie I think the protection itunes and wmp uses is ILLEGAL IAW fair use) You can use software like tunebite to convert any played sound to an MP3... just beware that it changes what the default sound card is in your system to a digital virtual one. thatis easy to undo in the control panel
