weird h10 problems

hello all,

firstly, i want to know if this is an issue suffered by all owners of the h10, or if you think it may be specifically my player (in which case i can return it and get a h20 ).

im using a 5gb iriver h10 running firmware 2.51 and a custom startup skin.*

problem 1: sometimes the player stops playing half way through a track. just stops playing. i investigate and the os is frozen on the first track of the current album (this only happens while playing an album in my experience because i only ever play tracks via albums :P ). half the time i can start playing another album and it works as expected (mind you, there is an odd delay of about 10 seconds and a strange level of backlight activity - on, off, on, off), other times nothing works at all and i need to pull the battery :/

pulling the battery results in database corruption, about half the time.

problem 2: sometimes, upon turning on the player when its been working fine over the last few days, the database is corrupted/nothing shows up/albums and genres and artist show up, but not tracks. browser mode works fine.

a database reconstruction is necessary to restore functionality.

problem 3: the h10 still turns itself off and on, especially while connected to the pc (i notice it more often this way). attempting to use the player in this state reveals that it's actually frozen and the battery must be pulled. this nearly always results in database corruption.

these problems are fixed by running easyh10 again (completely rebuilding) but this is tedious and unnecessary.

all my references to 'database corruption' mean gibberish text (strange asian characters), and theyre navagatable (music->alubms->$%$@#$->#%#^#^) but upon selection of a 'song' nothing happens, and the player kind of freezes for a few seconds.

i know there is a lot of uncertainty in my descriptions ('about half the time', 'sometimes' etc :P ) and i hope this illustrates just how random the issues appear to be.

does anyone else ever experience issues similar to these? what can i do about it?
thanks

*please, dont mention this as a possible root of my issues -_- i dont want to consider it at the moment because all other functionality is intact and.. and.. *gasp*

none of these problems have happened to me, so not all H10 owners have these problems
