Will the RAMDOM ever really be random?
I have not seen anyone post about this in a while.
I have the H10 20gig player. When I select random, the player will stay within the same five or six letters around the song I picked. In other words, "Highway To Hell" might be followed by "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"...then "I Shot The Sheriff"....then "Hit The Lights"...then "Jump Around"...etc. The player will never grab a song from the A's or B's, or the R's or T's or Z's; assuming that I start with a song in the H's. If I start with "Rock This Town", then the player will randomly play songs whose first letters start with P,Q,R,S,T,U. Nothing else. Am I doing something wrong here; or is this simply a bug in the player. I have the latest firmware at 2.51. It's a big enough deal to make me consider another player as this feature is really important. (And for those that suggest it...I'd rather not have to use EasyH10 with this.) |

Yeah, I've noticed (and read) the same thing. A slight bummer for sure. I think I remember reading that Rockbox has a true random feature though. Maybe it's time...

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly would RockBox for the H20 do for it?
