Charging....

Quick question...they have the two wires..oe plugs into the wall, and into the other wire, then that wire plugs into the mp3 player and computer.....does that other wire function like an *p*d cable and can it charge through the usb in the computer?

The cable is in the shape of a Y.

On one end you have the plug - this goes into the wall.

On another end you have one connector - this goes into the player.

On the third end you have the usb connector - this goes into the pc.

Possible connection options -

1. Plug into wall and connect to player = charging

2. Connect to player and plug usb into computer = charging plus ability to transfer data i.e. music/photos/files etc...

However, I'm not sure if it is possible (or sensible) to have the player charging via the plug whilst also connected to the pc via usb. Perhaps some could answer this question?

you can charge with just the USB cable, but it will take a lot longer than with the AC Adapter

It is not supposed to be good for the type of battery that the H10 uses though. Equally, you shouldn't leave your player on charge for extended periods of time i.e. once the charge has completed it should be disconnected.

It does charge via the USB cable, and I've had no problems with it. As far as I can tell it doesn't take any longer to charge than using the wall connector.

The only issue is that you can't listen to music while charging through the USB. You can if charging with the wall charger.

However, it is very easy to rig up a separate USB charging cable that plugs into the socket where you normally plug the wall charger. Just search the H10 forums for more info. This allows you to charge the battery via USB and listen to music at the same time. It will probably take a bit longer to fully charge since you're playing music at the same time.

I never have both USB cables connected at the same time, just in case I overheat the battery, although it may be OK. It would be like having the standard USB cable plugged in and connecting the wall charger at the same time. Better to be safe though.
