What to do with a new H10?
The title is slightly vague but I can't think of anything more suitable.

For Christmas, my gf will be getting a new H10 6gb, I am a H340 user so I dont have much of an idea of what to do with a new H10 to get it up to spec?

Is there a firmware upgrade I should do?
Can the H10 now play files numericaly (so it will play track order if the mp3s are named with 01, 02 etc)?
It is a European player so it will be UMS won't it, and that'll let her use it on my mac?

And is there anything else one should do to get it up to its potential, she wont be interested in modding it so don't worry about that.

There is new firmware that corrects some bugs and adds new features such as playing files numerically
There are EU players that are MTP. There is though a way to mod MTP to UMS and vice versa, but of course it's a bit dangerous.

So if it is a MTP player then it won't work on my mac unless I convert it to UMS or use the UMS trick?

Are the EU 6 GB players predominetly MTP or UMS?

Well, I think they are predominantly MTP as far as I know, as that is what mine is - yours may differ however...
