I love mine! Definately happy with it!
As it is, though, most people who are happy with their players won't google for an iriver forum in the first place and thereby find their way to misticriver. There's (probably) hoards of happy users who'll never post anything, whereas the people who are unsatisfied tend to post the same problem over and over again until it's solved. (subtle hint to use the search button and some patience ).
I'm keeping my h10, no doubt about it

Love mine too There are some minor issues like that alphabetical thing and the crack between songs, but I'm sure they're fixed in another firmware. For me, this device does everything it's supposed to do, so yeah I'm happy with it.

yeh i think we need to put as much positive stuff about H10 as possible so that googlers are welcomed by its wonders.

Mine is EU and works perfectly. I have had absolutely no issues with it what so ever apart from having to use playlists which isn't really much of a big deal.

all things considered, the H10 is the best ALL AROUND mini player made to date. Better than iPxx, better than zen, better than rio. This is my final analysis. Some people fall in love with iPxx fashion and interface , (to be honest, I think my H10 is easier to navigate than my iPxx) and buy into the hype, and others put up with the homely zens as they buy into the s/n ratio gimmick ( maybe they have squirrel eardrums lol) But each of these players have thier own horrible faults that can be magnified like the faults of the h10 are here on mysticriver. At the end of the day, from an average users view, I find the H10 to be best allaournd mp3 mini player, followed by iPxx mini, zen micro, then rio carbon, samsung, then gateway and finally the dell dj pocket player which is by far the most hideous looking and poorly designed dap ever put to market.

As a general rule of thumb I never buy bleeding edge products - products just released I'm belong to pessimisticriver and always expect the worst.

I really hope H10's suceed even more than H3xx in the long line of iRiver products

After a couple of teething problems, mine's functioning just fine. A few minor glitches here and there, but nothing we aren't already aware of.

Does it play my music? Yep. Record? Yep. Radio? Yep. That's good enough for me.

After the complete UMS conversion I LOVE MY H10. A few quirks but otherwise Love it!. What I don't like (easy moderators) is iRiver putting out a product that is clearly not ready and their ridiculous response time.

The question is, does it play music in a convenient, pleasing, easy-to-use fashion? For me, no. I want the albums to play in order without having to manually create a playlist for each individual album (which I fixed with my script). I also want my playlists on the H10 sorted in a logical fashion, i.e. in alphabetical order, rather than the date they were loaded on the unit.

The unit is darn close to perfect, in my opinion. If they would just release a new firmware I'd run back out and get it.

My H10 is great. I really have no complaints at this point.

I do however; think the whole picture thing is a bit of a gimmick. Sure, it's kind of cool to see personal photos on your player, but really, who is going to use this little screen to view photos on a regular basis. The one thing that would be cool would be the capability of plugging a camera straight into the H10 in order to download photos while on vacation, in order to make more storage room on your camera.

And I do wish I could go line in w/o the cradle. The audio is very clean... I haven’t experienced the overdriven bass that people are taking about. Any of the weird categorizing of songs that come up is usually do to poor tagging on my end. I did, like most people on this site, a ton of research before buying my H10. I've used several other players, and for a small hd, the H10 is perfect for me. I still highly recommend it. I would definitely buy it again.

Talking

For those considering a Zen Micro as an alternative, it seems the zen micro has some issues as well:

"Creative Labs has a couple problems they need to address before they can stand to compete with others in this market. First of all, something is draining the battery life from its player at increased rates, both when it’s being used and when it’s powered off. Getting four hours of battery life from a 12-hour battery is inexcusable." ...

"Something of particular annoyance is that the Zen Micro has a tendency of locking up during normal use. We experienced many lock-ups just trying to turn the player off, where it goes into a permanent shutting down cycle. Removing the battery was the only way of getting the player to shutdown, even after leaving the player in this shutdown state for hours. The fact that the player can frequently lockup just shutting down is a severe issue. This could cause your data and music to become corrupt when removing the battery.

Conclusion

There is a reason why the iPod reigns supreme; it simply works as it says it will. Apple has made us upset with their unwillingness to support software other than iTunes and we were really hoping the Creative Labs Zen Micro would be a good alternative, but it just left us feeling let down. If you read any other reviews both in print publication and on the web, you will be led to believe that the Zen Micro is the iPod killer we have all been waiting for, but it isn’t. We have to wonder if these other publications even tested the Zen Micro before writing a review. After testing two different players and using them for a couple months, the flaws in the Zen Micro were very obvious to us.

since u guys are happy with it then i guess iRiver won't need to release a firmware =x

also, it's not that the ipod works. you see advertisements everywhere about that. I've seen so many advertisements on trains about it and in news papers and everywhere.

Dont get "happy" and "works perfectly" confused

I love mine!

I think mine is great and went to a lot of time and trouble to select if from the competition (novice MP3 player user!)

I however have not had any real problems - so I would love it!

Fingers crossed for future reliability!

Undecided.
Got mine 2 weeks ago through the NTG 12 months + iH10 for $180, so the price was def right. H10 worked fine 2 days, then began a slow descent into terminal state (I posted a longer more detailed missive in the H10 vs H320 thread). I shipped it back for replacement today and hope iRiver will fix bugs.
Sounds like the EU owners are happy, US undecided. I just want something to work reliably w/NTG, though the FM radio is nice (reception mediocre) and the little bugger is admittedly cute. No interest in the photo viewer. If the replacement dies too, I'll buy the cheap but homely Dell PocketDJ, which (supposedly) works with NTG. From postings elsewhere, the Zen Micro has bugs, and I don't want the Samsung media player, which looks nice but is too big (I don't watch video on teensy screens with my aging eyes) and costs $$$, and the Samsung YG 920 (I think that's the model number) seems to have disappeared from the market already after initial buz about being an iPod killer. Suicide bomber, maybe. The iPod of course won't work with NTG, though my daughter's 20G is certainly pretty.
So...if you just want an MP3 player, I liked the H10 a lot, and unprotected mp3 files transferred fine up until the bitter croaking end. I'll let you know how the replacement works with NTG after I get it in 2-3 weeks.

I live in US & I use n-t-g and wmp10. I've never had a problem with my h10, and the napster problem I ran into lasted 20 seconds and that was when I decided to just use wmp10 to sync instead of napster. I am amazed how great everything is working --reading the napster message boards it looks like some people are having problems with thier players, regardless of make-- probably the minority. I live in the us and my h10 never froze, never died, never didnt connect usb or not say ok to disconnect and all my playlists are doing fine thank you ! Sure i'll take a firmware upgrade.. Get on it iRiver, but I can honestly say that my H10 is a JOY to use at home, at work, walking about, on the comptuer on napter, etc etc.

I just want to put out there to people who may be freaking out about the H10 that some us players are working very well with wmp10 and napster to go.

great luck to all , regardless of what dap they choose!

Added: the first day I did have to figure out how the radio turns off, or get it to turn off . Now that isnt a problem. That and the playlist thing which I worked around and the bass which for some reason isnt bad on mine.
It may sound like a lot but these are not huge problems IMO and will be fixed eventually in a firmware . WHATEVER !!! LOL!!!!!!!!

I like the unit but not the price, I bought it on an impulse and in retrospect I think a player for $100 less would have been a better fit for me

I haven't really had too much trouble with the bugs, and I'm sure firmware will be along eventually to fix up the few issues I have noticed.
