ID3Browse

hey.. just registered even though i've been looking at the site on almost a daily basis for months now

this might be handy for anyone out there using the database as opposed to the filetree view. when i first got my 120 i used the database for a wee while until i saw the light and decided to make the time and have the patience to sort out all my songs into folders, etc. :P anyways..

http://shanebrinkmandavis.com/homepage/ID3Browse/

i found it quite handy at the time cos it scans through all the songs and creates playlists from the tags depending on which example you use (example03-album creates a directory full of playlists for each album saving the time and boredom of manually creating hundreds of playlists!). there's also a GUI available to download to make things easier.

Wow nice tool incetardis! I will give it a try, seems good.
I had many playlists to make but I postponed it because I was too lazy to build them, but now....!

Oh by the way, welcome to the forum!

well mediamonkey can do that too. but its better because it can put songs into folders based on artist names, read from id3 tags

Welcome incetardis, good to have you. Thanks for the SW tip. It's always good (as Jeff says) to have options. By the way, love the RH avatar If you'd be so kind, we have a section here at Mistic, just for software, where everyone is able to submit it for everyone to see. All you have to do is give its name, a brief description of what it does, and upload it. Just head on over to the download section when you have time to do so. If you don't get to it tonight, I'll put it up. Thanks again.

S.
