IRiver Plus 3 Start Up problem

I've just gotten a new MP3 player an IRiver E10 6gb, which i love, but the program that comes with them, Iriver Plus is giving me some serious grief. The player came with version 2 which I already had as I had a smaller Iriver player previously. Version 2 never gave me a minutes trouble, but since getting the new player it's done an upgrade to version 3. Now Version 3 is giving me a really hard time.

It won't tranfer videos to my E10 and when I did get one on there it crashed and froze the player, but that's not the most annoying problem I've got.

When it loads up, it runs thru a heap of dll files, downloading them and installing them every time from the Net. I can get it to start up maybe 2 or 3 times, then the next time I start it up I get this error message

The proceedure entry point ? FLACStreamDecodeInit @C.AudioDuet@@QAEKPBG@Z Could not be located in the dynamic Link Library .AudioM.dll.

and the program just refuses to start up at all after that.

The only way I've found to fix it is to uninstall and re-install the program. Given that I've not even used a third of the space on the E10, I'm still in the process of adding music to it, and having to do an uninstall, and then re-install and re-boot of my computer every time I want to use the program is becoming rather annoying.

Thanks in advance

Try this: Disable the network adapter that connects to the internet before starting up IP3 (so it won't try and download files). Re-enable once you quit IP3. It might not be a perfect fix but it is better than reinstalling.

Okay, thanks for that, will see what happens. Now I have another problem with the stupid program tho, it won't transfer music or videos to my E10. It starts to, and then says some parts of the file couldn't be tranfered. I know there's plenty of space on the player, and it works fine on my old Iriver that my son now uses, so is it an E10 error, or an Iriver error.

Maybe some of the files have been corrupted by IP3 freezing up so many times. Try backup your files, format the player, than resync everything back.

do I format the player thru IP3 or thru window's explorer. I'ts stillworking okay, and I can drag and drop videos converted using the Iriverter thru Explorer and they are working just fine. I don't want to wreck it as I love it to bits, and my husband will kill me if I destroy another MP3 Player. Brought my son a cheap phillips go gear in January and it worked for one day and then crashed and is now un-usable, which is why I upgraded my old T30 to the E10

Formatting is done via your E10's advanced setting

thanks for that. reloaded IP3 last night and did a database update and it seems to have gotten over the transfer problem, so I'll see how it goes loading up without an internet connection today. Thanks so much for your Clieos.
