h10 5g won't sync to WMP10
hey all, first time posting here. I was hoping I could get some help from you knowledgeable folk on my problem here.
I have the h10 5gig mp3 player. I bought it roughly two years ago when it was relatively new. I never had any real problems with it, aside from firmware issues which got resolved. I recently unknowingly upgraded to WMP10, and now my h10 won't be recognized by my computer. I can't sync it or upload songs onto it. I tried downloaded iriverplus, but I don't think that would sync either. I turn it on, plug it in to my USB, and it reads it as... MTP Media Player. Not h10 like it used to. It also doesn't list it on My Computer anymore and let me browse inside of it. Is there a solution for this that I don't know about? Thanks. |

That seems a tad unusual, last I'd checked you had to install WMP 10 in order to be able to access the device in the first place. The fact you're saying you just recent upgraded to it and it's *not* working now doesn't make sense...
What you may wish to try doing is going into Device Manager in the Control Panel and removing all traces of the device from there, then try reconnecting the device and seeing if it detects it correctly. |

As long as you haven't installed the UMS-only firmware version 2.53, you should still be able to sync the 5/6 GB models with Windows Media Player. The 20 GB model (like the one I have) doesn't have a UMS firmware and thus can always be synced using WMP.
