Which T10 hardware / fimware support Audible

Hello,
I have a T10 with FM tuner 2GB (B-grade) purchased in the UK.
As I am blind I want to use this to listen to FM radio and
audio books in Audible format 4 downloaded from
www.audible.co.uk, which claims the T10 supports audible format 4.

My t10 is a UMS model (it came with iriver +2). When first connected
to my Windows XP Pro PC the iriver +2 got updated to
iriver +3 and the T10 firmware got updated to 1.76.
Alas when I try to activate the T10 with Audible Manager 5 I get an error
message saying that the T10 is not connected to the PC. As I can use Windows Explorer to manipulate files on the T10 the T10 clearly is talking to my PC. On checking with sighted help we could
not find the audible related
menu options in the T10 advanced settings.
I suspect that either my T10 hardware or the version of the firmware 1.76 which gets downloaded by iriver +3 in the UK does not
support the Audible formats.

I am getting no response from iriver on this. Can anyone please tell me....
- is the T10 hardware different in the USA and the UK?
- is the version of the firmware downlloaded by iriver +3 or by iriver
firmware updater different if downloaded in the USA or the UK?
- if only the USA firmware supports Audible formats then can I download
and install such firmware in the UK? If so then how?

-T10 hardware is the same worldwide among similar models (tuner, no tuner) but the 2 GB T10 is different from the smaller capacity T10s and requires different firmware (T10N).
- The locale version of the firmware currently on your player will determine the upgrade. When you turn off your player, the title screen before power off shows your locale version - EU, US, KOR, AU/HK, etc.
- Only the MTP firmware supports Audible files. I am not sure if this is limited to the US version firmware or not. To change to MTP you need to use the iriver firmware updater. When you change to MTP firmware an Audible directory is created on the player. If the EU/UK firmware does not support audible files, you can try to place the US version of the firmware in the Data folder and see if it will upgrade itself.

Many thanks for that info. One more question - how can I download the USA version of the firmware for manual install. the iriver firmware updater seems to only download the appropriate firmware for my locale. Is it possible to download firmware for other locales as t10m.hex files, and if so where can I find these files.
