Talking Try my tool for accessing Pictures in PMP

Hello everybody!

As many others i felt that iriver doesnt give a damn about the portability (in the meaning being able to use Mac/Linux) of the new database based PMPs.

I'm using Windows myself, but i didnt touch iriver plus, instead i used EasyPMP.

It is a good program, but its not able to update the database with pictures , only music.
I have done some googling but not found any program for this purpose.

But now, i have written my own small command-line tool that will do most of the job! I call it EasyPLX, after the file format of the picture lists, *.plx.

To be able to access a picture inside the Pictures menu in your E10/similar, you need several things.

You need for each picture:
*a picture in the folder Pictures
*a picture of the size 128*128 pixles in /System/Pictures
*a small picture of size 28*28 pixels in /System/Pictures

You also need a binary file called something.plx. This file is what will be listed in the Pictures menu.

This program will do the hard part for you, and create the PLX file for specified pictures, and put the file in yuor PMP. Right now it will not do all the other work, but i include those instructions with the program.

You can download it from my website, either the zip file, or download each file one by one.

Note that all this information is based on my own simple experiments with my E10. I cant promise that everything is correct. And i desperately need feedback from you!

Good luck with EasyPLX
