I thought I'd post this for anyone else that has this problem and doesn't have the luxury of taking a week off work to remedy the situation. If you can't use your USB devices because of the aforementioned error under Windows 2000, reinstall Win2K up to SP4 but update no further! It has to do with one of the automated post-SP4 Win2K updates. See link: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=387954 for more information on remediation without re-installation. Thought you guys might want to know about it so others who WILL have this issue, have a proper workaround.. |
