Iriverter causes computer to shut off?
Hey, I finally got to playing with my Clix, and wanted to play my first video on it. I downloaded iRiverter, and when I tried to convert a file (.avi) my computer shut off. I did this a couple more time, and with different videos (all .avi). It only shuts off when I'm using iRiverting and am trying to convert a file. I've tried the alternative (Badak) and the problem still persists.
I'm using a Compaq Presario R3360us. It gets the job done, but I can't watch a video and multitask at the same time(the computer freezes when I do). This may have to do with the actual problem. I am using the latest version, and would like to get this resolved. Any help is appreciated. Thank you for your time. |

Sorry for the double post, but I want to make sure people who have already read come back. If this against the rules, I'll change it.
I think the problem is that the task is causing my computer to heat up rapidly and think WinXP is connected to it. I have another computer that is connected to this one by a router for internet. And has no problem converting video in that one, but I can only move my videos to the other computer by cd's (it's time consuming). Is there anyway to transfer files through the router? I am also knowledgable on linux, and i need to know if I can dual boot and use linux to convert files. Any help is appreciated. |
