iriverter problem
Just bought a clix 2GB. I have downloaded iriverter from numerous different mirrors at sourceforge.net. Each time I try to install it, I get a download error/abort message. Portions of the program are visible, but it is obviously incomplete, as I am unable to successfully convert single videos. Any ideas what is wrong with the download/installation?
Love the website - I can see myself spending many future hours here. |

You need to press the second picture to select single videos. It may be that you are converting videos incompatible with mencoder which would be WMV codec 3.

Email this to iriver about getting new firmware for the clix. They will probably take ideas for their new players too so it's better to tell them what needs to be improved before releasing a new player. |

I am having the same problem. I can't get the installer to properly install. I downloaded the zip file instead, but it won't convert files properly. I keep getting a message on the player that says "incompatible file." I'm using firmware 1.31K with an H340.

iriverter can anyone make it work, is there an alternative
I also Just bought a clix 2GB for my daughter "in favour of a nano because of the better video capability" but I have downloaded iriverter from several different mirrors at sourceforge.net. Each time I try to install it, I get a download error/abort message unless I dont download the codecs but then it still doesen't worki. Portions of the program are visible, but like the writers above I am unable to successfully convert videos or proprietry DVD's. I downloaded the zip file but it won't convert files either, Ive tried the version 1.3 and 1.6 but nothing works. My pc is a fast pentium d at 3gig and only one week old. I have spent 7 hours on this now, Ive even tried to contact Iriver on their site but the contact button comes up with "url not available!" I've searched a few sites and the net abounds with people who just can't get this to work. Any help please

Well, none of you look at the installation process, didn't you?
The error always showed up when the installation package tried to download the codec pack. The original codec pack was outdated and replaced by a newer one in mancoder, so obviously when the installation package tried to download the old codec it wasn't there (and the author hasn't update iriverter installation). You should untick the codec pack installation when installing iriverter (or simplay use the zip package), than download the codec manually. Have a look at this. Note: As good as mancoder can get, it will never be able to convert everything, so make sure the type of file you trying to convert is supported. Also note: Iriverter is a 3rd party software, iriver won't support it.

iriverter can anyone make it work
Thank you for your advice I have already downloaded by zip and have iriverter, mplayer and mencoder available. I have tried to copy a few DVDs and a couple of mpegs but iriverter just goes straight to the complete screen. also if I press the access button i get a blank green screen momentarily. Any further advice would be greatfully received
