How to upgrade S10 without iriver plus 3?

hello,
there´s a new firmware for S10 and i´m not able to upgrate with iriver plus 3, because there´s the error "Network error. Please check network connection and try again."
(Switching the firewall off has no effect.)

I can only guess since my S10 hasn't arrived yet. The firmware is very
similar to the T10 firmware. On the T10, you'd do the following: connect
the player to your computer: it shows up as a USB device. copy the
hex file to the root folder of the player. Safely disconnect the player from
windows again and unplug it. It then shuts down and briefly after tells you
it's upgrading the firmware. I imagine it could be the same for the S10.
