MoodLogic database problem

Hi, guys.

I'm having a problem with my MoodLogic database. I have an H120 jukebox. Anyway, it started when I installed RockBox on my player. I didn't like it, to be honest, so I removed it, reinstalled the firmware, formatted my hard drive (using the format option), and then reinstalled the firmware again and transferred over my music. Everything was fine -- the old music appeared as it had and all the menu options were normal.

However, the problem started when I tried to transfer new MP3s to my player. The transfer itself worked fine, but now MoodLogic can't seem to read the ID3v2 tags on my MP3s. And before you ask, yes, all the tags were in order. Instead of providing Artist/Title/Album/Genre info, all the new entries simply appear as question marks (ie. ??? ???????, etc). I remember having this problem before, when I first installed MoodLogic months and months ago, but the question marks aren't going away this time.

Any suggestions? Could it be bad MP3 files (I edit the volume levels on all my new ones), or something wrong with my firmware, or what? I tried uninstalling/reinstalling MoodLogic, rebuilding the databases, etc, with no effect.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I've kept rebuilding the databases and fiddling with the tags, and now the new Bob Marley and a handful of the Bob Dylan have just appeared, so I don't what's going on. Has anyone else experienced this/fixed it?

No-one?

Well, anyway, I don't know what the problem was, but it seems to have worked itself out after much of my sweat and tears. I suspect it was some problem with the Winamp software, which I originally used to edit the ID tags. Anyway, after converting the files to WAV and back to MP3, then re-editing the tags with a proper program and fiddling with MoodLogic a bit, the database is slowly being fixed.

So.... yeah. If anyone else ever encounters this, follow the procedure outlined above. For editing tags, I would suggest using TagScanner -- it's free and won't potentially bugger your MP3s up like Winamp Lite. Or perhaps it was Sound Forge that did it? Ah, whatever.
