Closing Statement - Alternative FW Project at iRiver@Lounge

Hi everybody,

Konrad and I met up yesterday to discuss the future of the alternative firmware project we (and Dogbert) started.

We both share the sad feeling that the project is spoilt, poisoned by the surprising pocketing action by MisticRiver/Rockbox.
Since we started our project for fun and in our spare free time, we have come to the conclusion that we prefer not to
continue under this conditions.

No amount of technical brilliance will justify the lack of fairness we found in the past, or substitute the benefit of real teamwork.
In particular, the recent actions poison the atmosphere of trust and instead seem to infuse a feeling of fierce competition
between supposed members of the team.

We therefore prefer to withdraw our activities from this venture and leave it to MisticRiver/Rockbox to carry on by themselves.

We would like to thank you all, who supported us in the project, in particular to the ones who offered their help.
And we specialy would like to apologize to all these users, even though we didn't manage to come back to this offer in the end.

Kind regards

Konrad & Buckaroo Banzai

Ditto--many thanks for all you have done, and for all who continue on with the efforts, including you. In the end, it doesn't make a difference who can do what as long as it gets done--all efforts are recognized. And if an influx of another project group can assist, more the power to everyone!
