Question Is there a way to upgrade H10 Firmware offline?

I have Firmware 1.00 for my USA H10 6GB and have had no problems. Except that I just bought a Cradle, and Track Separation doesn't seem to work when I copy tapes.

iRiver's suggestion (of course) is to upgrade the Firmware.

But that requires removing all files from the H10, and being connected to the iRiver site in a way that our Firewall will not allow.

Since I 'Drag and Drop' from Windows 2000, this seems a major hassle.

1. Is there a list of what each upgrade 'fixed' or 'improved'?

2. Is there a way to upgrade without being connected to the iRiver site during the upgrade?

3. Is there a way to upgrade without removing all of the files from the H10?

Thanks!

Can't you just turn the 'firewall' off while you perform the procedure.. Then turn it back on again when you are done?
Or you can probably configure the 'firewall' to accept traffic from the iRiver site.

Exclamation Aha! There is a way!

There is an offline ("Manual") option in the iRiver Firmware Updater. It requires a downloaded Firmware .zip File from the iRiver site. But I had to take the PC off the LAN before the Updater would make the "Manual" option available.

Now, all I have to do (I hope) is reload my player from my PC.
