Exclamation TDT now supports DRM

I've updated TDT to (hopefully) read DRM-protected files. Get it here.

BUMP!

Thanks ewanc...

Only 31 people have seen this and I think it would be very beneficial for lots of people... is it important enough to be stickied, mods?

Angry

I'll bet that a whole bunch of people check the TDT site once in a wile for updates anyway. That's what I used to do--it's a smart idea if there is no auto update in the program or one is not apart of this site.

the 3.0.7 link doesn't work on the site--it leads to the 3.0.6 download...

This looks like a very useful and cool program. However, I have a US H-10 20Gb, which shows up without a drive letter. This program does not appear to support it.

Am I wrong? Is there a way to use this, or another program with similar functionality?

Thanks,

David

I don't know if it supports DRM files, but EasyH10 will update your DB along with WMP.

OK - I've gotten my H10-20GB to mount with a drive letter. Just press the reset button to power it off, and then boot it up while pressing the Select button. That activates the emergency connect mode, which causes it to mount as a UMS device - a standard USB disk.

I removed the TDI .ini file to get TDT to start up without crashing, and told it my H10 was mounted on L:. However, TDT says that I have no files. Using WindowsExplorer, I can see that I actually have *lots* of files, and the H10 plays them just fine.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks,

David

I'm seeing the same thing. I have re-downloaded it from different Sourceforge locations and it always shows version 3.0.6 on the About Screen after installing. (I'm a new H340 owner and the only version I've ever tried installing is 3.0.7.)

The date of the newest file in the TDT.zip file (SetupTDT.msi) is 5/29/2005. Maybe the About Screen just wasn't updated?

Something I've found with the most recent versions of TDT is that it doesn't seem to save the updated database

eg say I have 100 songs on my player and I add 10 more songs and run TDT. It now says I have 110 songs including 10 new ones. Fine

Now if I add another 10 songs and run TDT instead of saying I have 120 including 10 new ones it says I have 120 including 20 new ones.

The only way around this is to delete the database file from the player and let TDT create a new one from scratch.

Another thing I've noticed with this latest version is that is doesn't recognise all tags. I had no problems with the previous version, but when I run this latest version I get an error message saying that I have 15 files without tags!

This is getting stranger, I've just run TDT and it now says I have 192 files without tag information. All the files have tags and last week TDT was reading them! Is there any way to get a previous version of TDT as I never had any problem until I used this latest version?

I have earlier versions from August of last year and January and February of this year, in zipped files (unfortunately, I only have the dates of the files, not what versions they correspond to--my hunch, however, is that the last February version I have is v. 3.0.6). Just let me know where to send it.

remember google is your friend, as is the search engine on this forum, and if you go to the beginning of this thread, which is about tdt, it becomes evident what tdt is.

For DRM, there's a description in the link below. Basically it limits how you can use a music file (mostly to prevent you making lots of copies of it).
