E10 Black screen

I was updating my firmwire to v1.04 and instead of unpluging my printer i unpluged the e10, i think it was finshed downloading but was still installing when i pulled the plug. Now! the screen stays black when i turn it on, I can still access the E10, the loading screen is still displayed, my computer still reconizes it and i can see all the folders. I rang iRiver Australia (C. R. Kennedy) they said to send it in and it would cost $99.00AU to fix. Well there has got to be an easer way, is there?. I have got the E10 hex file, which I dont know what to do with.

In the meantime I went out and brought a X20.

Can any one help????

thanks
twenty

Try just putting the E10.hex file on the root of your E10, and than unplugging it after doing the 'Safely remove Hardware' procedure
