not much of a chance of that happening...i walked into Penrith Dick Smith (Westfield) and looked around, saw a USB charger and it was a 5V rating and i took it.
I was originally looking for one with just 1 x USB for charging, but there was another one with 2 x USB sockets and i ended up getting that. You dont need one of the Apple iPod USB chargers...they are ridiculously overpriced for what they are (usually around 48 - 50 bucks) I use the aftermarket USB charger with my E10 since I thought my USB wasnt supplying enough power to charge the E10 (could be USB 1.1) after a few weeks of really quick battery drain. What you DON'T WANT: Apple iPod Power Adaptor (C9850) - Dick Smith Electronics - Australia. Search, Research, Buy Online. if the link don't work, search C9850 What I have: USB Mains Power Supply 2 Outputs (M9943) - Dick Smith Electronics - Australia. Search, Research, Buy Online. if the link don't work, search M9943 (i got mine for 24 bucks since it was 10 bucks off during a sale and im also a staff member of woolworths) ALSO available: Black USB Mains Power Supply (M9936) - Dick Smith Electronics - Australia. Search, Research, Buy Online. if link dont work, search M9936 (however, i have not seen these (M9936) in-store for quite some time at DickSmith) |

Hi guys and gals, I bought a logitech USB hub not long ago. Its powered, so devices won't drain the computers power. So what I do is plug the e10 into the hub and switch the hubs power on. charges up, and won't blow up cause it outputs rated power, the standard 5v. Im not sure about amperage though. All I know is that it works.

Just found this thread and have a question. I brought a bluetooth headset for my husbands mobile phone last year, that is USB charged, and it came with a groovy little wall plug that you can then plug a usb cable into. Can I use this to charge my E10 or would it cook it? Need some portable way of charging for when I'm traveling.

If it says 5V then it should be fine as different USB products require different amounts of power...for example, you may have seen those "USB Hubs". These things come in all shapes and sizes and amounts of sockets...but not all are equal... some have the cable which runs from the original USB socket to the Hub...but others have the USB cable AND an extra power cable to a power socket....spot the difference??? those without the extra power cable might not be able to have enough power to charge certain things but may have the ability to perform simple tasks such as reading a flash drive... |
