Possible bad usb cable
I just got my E10 yesterday and was so excited. I plugged my E10 in at one of my school's computers and it worked fined. Recognized it and everything. I had some time to kill to (writing a paper) so I figured I'd charge it and enjoy some quality time with it once I got back to my room.
Right before class I safely disconnected my E10 and left the computer lab. When I got back to my room, ready to fill my brand new E10 with music, I noticed my computer couldn't recognize my E10 (Unknown Device). So after hours of monkeying around with my E10 and my computer, I decided to call it quits for the night and resolved to find a solution tomorrow. Today I went to the same computer lab, to the same computer where my E10 did work to put music on it. But the same problem that happened with my computer is now occurring with the school's computer. I think something may have happened to my usb cable but I'm not 100% sure because I can still charge my E10 and the computer has a general idea that something is connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really don't want to have to send it back. |

I'm going to try to drain the battery of my E10 and see if that makes a difference when I connect it to my computer.
Then again I might have to go through this all over again if this works. Also I'm going to leave my computer off and unplugged to see if helps. I'll report back with my findings. |

Don't try to drain your battery, course it will be going to shorten your battery life. If you really wants to try if it work, look around from your friends to see if they have a u10 cable , which is the same for e10.

Most people in I know have never heard of IRiver so I don't think that's going to be an option. I could try to buy a new cable but I'm not sure on where to buy one, besides from the IRiver site.
I think I'm going to send my E10 back if a new cable doesn't work |
