Volume limiter?
Is there any volume limiter on the E10? I think it is. I got a old N10 and the N10 got the same outeffect. If i play on volume 40 and modify the personal EQ it should raise the volume and NOT lower it. Ex if i got all on +-0 the volume raises up to 40 and if i put everything on max it's the same volume at 20 as on 40.
Is it like this for you guys to? PS Running firmware 1.0 KR wich shouldnt have any volume limiter? DS Thanks in advance Last edited by Danjul : August 9th, 2007 at 07:48 AM. |

It shouldn't.
Because if there is like a 100db limit and you play 100db and raise the 60hz for example it compensate the volume to 100db and is there any way to blow this crappy limiter away? |

Exactly. Well i think that's the "EU Protection" whatever it's called (you know) and you should get rid of id if you flash it to a firmware from Korea or Japan or something but i got the "1.04 KR" and that one shouldn't have the limiter or? well if i can't get rid of this protection i will keep on using my old N10 with 128mb. I just need to fix this |

I also have the 1.04 KR. The limitation is iriver's own, not EU's it seems. But i would stay away from EU firmware anyway to be sure.

I have found that if I set what volume i want (say 36, as my actual volume seems to stop getting any louder past 30) and then as soon as the song starts playing I push the "up" button so it stops and goes back a menu to the highlighted file, then I push the "right" button again and it seems to play at whatever volume I had the level set at. As soon as I touch the volume controls it seems to jump back down to it's limited level.
