problems with software, hardware, or usb?
Hi,
First post, getting a headache over this. Here goes. Already have an E10 (my wife's) for the past year or so, no problems with it whatsoever, infact, that's what made us get another one for myself. Set it all up a couple of weeks ago, loaded what I wanted on it, made playlists, the usual stuff, but the last couple of days it's not having any of it. When I plug in to my USB it takes forever, eventually I get this message The specified I/O operation on device/harddisk2/DR4 was not completed before the time-out period expired? The Plus 3 software eventually loads up, but I can't add or delete anything, and it won't transfer. So, I got my wife's player and checked that out. It loaded on to the (new portable) USB (which is brand new and seems to be working fine), then the Plus 3 software came up, but when I tried to load songs on it it wanted to transfer all the songs from my player on to the other one. It seems to be a real mess. Well, I guess my question is, does anyone have any sugegstions as to what I could do to resolve it? Does anyone else run 2 e10's through the one PC? The PLus 3 software isn't great, but before it was certainly manageable, now I can't get jack. Thanks Craig |

Got home after work and thought I'd give this another go.
It's taking an eternity to load up the iriver plus 3 software. The device info light is not on, and I still get this message The specified I/O operation on device/harddisk2/DR4 was not completed before the time-out period expired I tried the new USB by using it for something else (uploaded photos no problem, fast too) and it was fine. The message on the screen (usb connecting) is taking a huge amount of time, as is the usb connected sign when it does appear. So, there seems to be a problem between the device and the hardware and this plus 3 software. Does anyone have an idea what I can do? Last edited by cbinseoul : June 7th, 2007 at 11:13 PM. Hi,
Yeah done all that, both in the new USB and in the old ones at the back. I uninstalled the plus 3 software, tried it with plus 2 software, but still nothing. I don't have a manual as such just what I downloaded from the Iriver site which isn't a lot of use to be honest, so I'm kind of stuck. If I use the reset button on the player, will that erase everything, or just reset time/language details etc. I'm ready to throw it out the window... |

The specified I/O operation on device/harddisk2/DR4 was not completed before the time
i too have the same problem. I am not able to delete the songs nor add any more new songs. I feel I made a mistake in buying this product. As any one found a solution??

I am not able to do any I/O operation on the e10 when I connect it to the System. When I connect the e10 to the system, it try to read the content of the e10 and while reading the content it throws an error "The specified I/O operation on \Device\Harddisk1\DR 8 was not completed before the time-out period expired."
Is there any other software so that I can use to format the e10? |
