Exclamation Easypmp problem

Hi I've ben trying to get easypmp to work with my e10 but i am having problems getting it to work. Just before the part where it closes the device an error pops up on screen and closes easypmp. i disconnect the e10 and it shows the artist and album info but when i go to play the song it doesn't play it and jumps straight back to the album select menu. Any ways to fix this because i'd rather use easypmp than iriver plus 3.

Hi

Check your settings. I had errors and had to use these settings.

Media database - rebuild Tag information
Playlist conversion - Reconvert, Find Missing
Location - d:\ - not important
Identifier - iriver_e10_ums....

I think from memory it was the rebuild option that needed to be set.

There's a a bug (or two) in easypmp which affects the "Closing player" part... but not anything before that.
Anyway to fix that/those bugs, delete db.dat, db.dic, and db.idx from the System folder in e10. (the folder is hidden)

Glad to hear. EasyPMP is awesome and frees us from the 'lacking' Iplus3

You've destroyed my E10...

I tried to delete those files which you said would make easyPMP work, and I delted them fine, and now they're gone, and now my E10 doesn't show up any music in the music/albums/artists etc folders. The music is still on there, but it won't show up. This has only made the problem worse. And easyPMP still won't work.

Help!

It's ok, I did a rebuild with easyPMP, and it fixed the problem. But I still cant get my newly added songs to show up within the menus. Most likely because they can't be converted into the format required by the E10. Please see my other thread for more info.

Sorry about the double post, I was freaking out.

Actually - Update: The new songs have been added. Except, the 5 star ratings for 200 something songs that made up my regular playlist are now gone.

Calm down. Nothing is destroyed, except maybe your playlist. I admit that i don't know for sure where the ratings are stored, but a guess is in the database. And when easyPMP rebuilds your database, the ratings are gone. Too bad no one thought of that before.

I don't really have a clue what you should have done, if Update with easypmp didn't work, and you also needed to keep some data (the ratings) from the old database.
But you can always backup db.dic, db.idx, and db.dat to another folder before you delete them. I apologize i didn't say so at first.
