LONG ANSWER:
Here's the story,
I as an employee of Woolworths (Australians will kno this company also owns BiG W, Tandy, Dick Smith Electronics etc.)
was lookin for a new iRiver Mp3 player mainly coz of the audio quality the reproduce. I was lookin for something bigger than 512 mb (old iFP-795) and then i laid my eyes on the E10 one day at JB HiFi and wow.....then i saw the price tag...286 dollars...
so i wait a few months and monitor the prices...but not much change...and then i flick through a Dick Smith Catalogue and it says they're having a sale and i decide to pop in just for fun.
I then see the E10 for 121 bucks but i didn't have my wallet with me at that time as i was only just window shopping. So i go home and somehow i managed to totally forget all about it for a month or two and then i go back into the same store to check if its still on sale and to my shock it was!
So i decide to get it the very next day at Dick Smith and the bad news came: "Sorry, the last model we have is the display model. You can check out Tandy if they have any"
So i go over to Tandy and luckily, they had it AND also price matched Dick Smith (it was 20 aussie dollars more at Tandy) so i ended up gettin it from Tandy for 84.95. How you ask?
well here it goes:
E10 = 121 dollars
Woolworths Staff Discount = 5%
(5%)
$121 - $6.05 = 114.95
$114.95 - $30 (giftcard from a customer at work who left it behind at the register at my workplace)
= $84.95
is that a record by any chance?....28% of RRP (assuming the RRP is 300 dollars)
