Question LG mobile charger... will it kill my e10?

Howdy all,

Having bought an e10 recently, i've started to notice how much of a pain it is to be only able to charge thru the pc... especially when i need those usb ports for other stuff.

Then i realised that my 3G LG mobile has an ac adapter that happens to fit perfectly with my e10 socket. I plugged it in for a few seconds and bingo: "charging".

I took it straight out tho, because i have no clue whether or not the power output of the thing might overload the battery, etc...

So yeah, i was wondering if anybody has any advice on this. Have you guys tried using something like this before? Are there any other ac adapters people have found which work??

The leading cause of death of iRiver players is the wrong charger. It doesnt fry the battery, but some components on the circuit board.

I would check the output of the charger, in amps and volts, and the polarity of the plug *before* using it.

You can do as you please

Which LG device do you use? There's a certain chance that it will work, but I wouldn't risk it.

USB is a standard (while iriver tweaked it, adding an extra pin). But the LG plug or irivers plug may be much different.

Which plug is used for the E10 side? The same as for H10 (18 pins)? I guess it's more like U10 (24 pins), since some LG plugs do match here too. But from what I've seen as pinouts for LG, the connections are much different. Even if charging was ok, there may be some shortened pins within the plug, which will damage your E10.

Maybe the iTip A82 from iGo is ok both for clix, U10 and E10?

Well i've had a look tho it's kinda hard to really count the pin but i'm pretty sure both my LG phone (3G U8360 to be exact) and my E10 have 24 pins. I have no idea if they're the same length tho.

As for the output, the adapter itself doesn't say anything about what voltage and current the thing produces. I've been looking on the net but i can't find anything on the web with that kind of information...

i've also had a look into those iTips things, look like they're worth a shot. I'll do some more digging and see if i can find them in the land of Oz, if not there's always mail order (hopefully wont get too pricey....)

But i'm really hoping it'll work with my LG charger and save me the trouble (maybe since they're both korean they're recycling chargers?? )

I was looking at the 2 cords... I'm not sure if they have the same amount of pins but they look different.
