Read Before Resetting Your E10 !!!

Hi

Don't reset your iriver E10 before you backup the folders

Flash Games
Theme
Pictures

Even though these items are preinstalled on the item after a reset you'll only have the basic theme and no games or pics. Not good.

Backup the above mentioned folder prior to resetting, then just copy them back onto the device. If you do a reset before backing up the items email me at <not emaiing anymore as the post below lets you download the original content> and I will send them to you.

From memory I think you will also loose the demo video and and Bitamins you might of downloaded as well.

Oh....I did that ...DxxM...but I found the official iRiver support can let U download the pre-loaded files on the unit:

But that zip file does not have the Bitamins folder!!
What's inside that folder? As my now is empty ;(

Hi mate

good find. It's my understanding the bitamin folder is empty by default. You can grab some feebies from the korean iriver site. I grabbed a few but didnt like them really. Just seemed like a slide show with tranqul music. Would rather run a slide show of my own pics with chlled music of choice. I think bitamins are suppsed to send special sounds to the brain though alpha waves or something

Hi ... new here and lovin the e10 only had it for a week though ... question > what is the benifit of the reset? Just to clear memory ... or fix system error?

Yup, that is fine. You can use the E10 as a usb external disk drive. So copy and paste works fine.

It came in very handy the other day when I let my kids use my e10 and they hung it (don't ask me how).

it worked like a cold boot on a pc (and I didn't lose any info)

I had the same problem and couldn't access the hong kong site - maybe it was down or something. I looked around on the iriver sites in other countries and found that the one in china also had a download of the preloaded stuff. Hope this one works.

Thanks to all those who have offered help on regaining the preloaded themes games etc after restting and not backing them up. I just got my e10 yesterday and due to iriver plus 2 stuffing me around and closing spontaneously during syncing i ended up with a corrupt music file on it that would lock the screen. I couldn't delete it as it wasn't recognised by my computer and not even resetting my e10 got rid of it. I ended up having to initialize it which did get rid of it but also the preloaded content which i didnt realise i should've backed up. However, with the help of people here and komencanto's guide to the e10 on the iriver forum page, found at this link:

I've got my e10 back! To all other e10 users, make sure you get iriver plus 3 instead of iriver plus 2. You can find it here:

Make sure you upgrade your firmware through that program ASAP.

Just a quick question. People have been talking about some "bitamins" on the E10, although I have not found anything of the nature on my folder. Any idea what's up?

They say it some vitamin for the brain... Look in the post "Bitamin"posted by asiandavid in the e10 forum for further details.

never reset the E10 if Windows XP doesnt see your device becouse he lost all functions and until today, I not find the right process to recover my little E10.

I didnt know that theres a FORUM like these sir rjeeves that is so helpful...i accidentally formatted my iriver E10 i lost all the music, the theme, the games..and maybe also the Bitamin thing....help me to restore it back heres my email:elijaowood@gma il.com..

Someone should change the words "reset" to "initialize" or "format", "reset all settings" or whatever you people have done. The instruction book always refer to the Reset button with the word "reset".

The "reset" in this thread is mistaken for the Reset button. I mean look at the posts in this thread!
