I doubt iRiver Plus 3 will be released outside Korea. You need to register your Serial Number into the Korean website in order to download.

Mmmmmmmm, thats not good if true. Seeing as the E10 is a video device and there is no vendor supported method of getting video content on to the device. Thank goodness for badak. Shame if they don't release it though, bit rough releasing the hardware but not the supporting software.

Hello Everyone,

I bought the iRiver E10 (which prompted this post after not receiving any replies from the main iRiver website) only 2 weeks ago and immediately installed firmware 1.02 with no problems whatsover. I created playlists and transfered files ok. Just the other day I installed firmware 1.03 and noticed immediately that the scrolling was faster on the player - which is a good thing.

But after an hour of playing some music, it appears that the latest firmware is buggy. If you go to the album folder, select an album then play your music, what happens is that it will loop the songs (without playing music) until the end. If you select play all then it will loop all the songs, all 940 that i've got on there! The only way to get out of it is to repeatedly press the left arrow key or hold down the shutdown button. Reseting, shutting down doesn't change the situation.

Everything else is working ok like radio, pics, text and movie files using badak though i haven't tested the remote feature.

Anyone else experienced crappy firmware 1.03?

Thanks
Peter

i think i figured it out. when i encoded the cd's to the pc's music library using iriver plus 2 on firmware 1.02 and then creating a playlist, all was fine. i then deleted the music files from the pc to save some space and had no issues with playing the music on the e10. when i upgraded to 1.03 then syncing the e10 with the pc, again all was fine but after an hour or so, the e10 started looping the music. i think by deleting the files from the pc then syncing screwed the e10 up... somehow...

i am about to rip a cd and create a new play list - see what happens.

yep. i can confirm that if you delete your music files from the pc before you install the latest 1.03 firmware, everything is fine. if you go ahead and install 1.03 then do the sync option on iRiver Plus 2, it will play havoc with your E10. Weird bug. With 1.02 it was ok.

now that i got that off my chest....

i think what you can do is still upgrade to 1.03 (if you haven't already) but when connecting the e10 to the PC don't auto sync, do a manual transfer instead.

i don't think you can downgrade....

Oh...so next time when it was prompting me for an upgrade, I'll think twice before doing so. And now i am storing the firmware into my PC for just incase of another crapy firmware.

This site has the latest firmware only.

found another bug or maybe just a poor implementation on the 1.03 firmware.

if you play a music track and then while playing you change to another music file, obviously the player will play that song however if you scroll backwards to the main menu where the music files are displayed, it will show your previous music file not the current one. annoying...

The Now Playing menu works ok though.
