E10 Questions

Hey,

i recently broke the hard drive in my Iriver H340 and im looking for a new player while i get my cowan A2, so im looking at the E10. Id like to know a few things before i buy it.


1. How much range does universal remote have? does it work for other things like stereos and dvd players? is it it similar to the universal remote PSP hack?

2. Does it Skip Photos Fast? with both my H10 and My H340 while skipping photos it was a real pain in the ass because each one loaded. while on Ipods they seem instant...

3. Is it slow to navigate through 1000s of songs? h10 and the h340 were, but the H10 was the best out of the two.

4. will i need to convert all of my videos with Iriverter, because i know that the A2 doesnt need to convert any videos because it supports nearly all of the popular codecs.

5. Are the U10 Games Compatible?

6. Since it has an Infra red port, is it possible to play multiplayer games with someone close by with another E10?

7. Does it Support Gapless Play Back?

8. When its completely Filled with songs, is it quick to skip. I need to Have the song played instantly after i skip it.

the only one i can answer definately is number 5) Yes

I have a strong feeling 6 & 7 are both no (especially 6)

Q1 I think the URemote is only for TV sets. According to the manual there will be no further support for different brand sets. I personally think the remote feature is pointless. I have both an Akai & LG tv and it doesn't control either of them. When I'm in the front room I have a remote for my TV anyway Perhaps it could be useful down the pub for switching sports channels

Q3 I have just over 1000 WMAs and I notice no lag when scrolling around between artists/albums/genres etc. Seems very quick to me.

Q4: I use badak to convert video. Very easy, I have jsut been dropping VOB files into badak and hitting go. Generates the file in no time. There are presets available for the E10 from the badak site.
