Any Problems with battery replacement for H120

Hi Guys!

I'm new and very small so go easy on me 'K? I've owned a H120 for bout 3 years now and its a top piece of Kit, i think though because of constant use the battery is going, it wont hold charge for any length of time in playback. I have read some of the posts here and they are very helpful, so much so that i am thinking of changing the battery, so what i need from you fine folks is advice; is there any problems with any of the batteries out there? I'm hearing things about swelling of batteries in some cases? Also on another topic while i have you, is there any reason for some songs freezing the player during playback? The current firmware is V.1.66. Oh aswell, did i hear something about an IR remote???

Welcome to the forums little Mouche .
For the battery I would get a cameron sino brand. The cheaper ones do have a habbit of swelling up and crushing your hard drive.As far as I know there are no cases of cameronsino's doing this. There are directions on doing the swap here http://www.misticriver.net/wiki/inde...ry_Replacement . Dont't forget to switch the polarity if you get a ipod type battery.
So far as the songs freezing you could try reinstalling the firmware but make sure you have the charger connected and probably wait untill you've fitted the new battery as you don't want to run the chance of your player shutting down half way through a update. If it only freezes on certain songs then you could try re-ripping and see what happens. There are probably some other fixes for this as well but I'm don't know them but maybe (most likely) someone else does .

Hmmm the I.R remote is/was a plan of Shadesbass' but I think that time constraints have put it on hold. (you can't let building a remote cut into your drinking time , can you? ).

Hmm...yeah, that idea kinda got put on the back-burner. I'll dig it out when I get some spare time (I have to make use of the dead remote that Jumbuck sent me after all ), but I've recently started a new job so things are kinda hectic at the moment.
