Custom H10 Case

So I've begun the process of turning a classic greybox gameboy into a case for my H10 20GB. I've already gutted it out, done some filing and whatnot. I plan to go through with the case no matter what, but for true awesomeness I have a few features I'd like to implement. This is where I have a few questions. First, I think if I could procure a remote that I could wire it to the buttons on the gameboy (similar to how this guy did.) But before I drop $50 bucks or whatever it costs to get one, I figured I'd ask: Does it work with rockbox? If not, no point in buying one, as I will never return to the old firmware. Second, what buttons does the remote have? Can it control the hold, scroll etc? Finally, I've seen some talk of people having some backup charging ability with some 9V batteries. How does that work? It seems I may have space to cram in a few batteries, and if that gave me some extra juice I'd be all for it. Thanks for any info!
