Battery Ballooned - 3 TIMES

I'm on to my 3rd Sonnet 2200mAh battery and it ballooned like the last 2. I don't know why this keeps happening, I've sanded down those metal intrusions (not completely but i spent ages on them). Is Sonnet a bad brand? If there's any way to stop this from happening please let me know.

Thanks

Get a cameron sino. You are very lucky you haven't destroyed your hard drive if you have had 3 balloons!

thanks for the advice. I was thinking of getting a CS but the place i got the Sonnet battery from doesn't sell them and I can only get store credit. looks like i'll actually have to pay for it.

I got my sino from these guys -> http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZlic...uctionsQQhtZ-1

It was crazy-cheap and the battery arrived in 4 days (Hong Kong -> Australia). Look at the store's feedback you can't go wrong.

I got the "Replacement for Apple iPod 1st/2nd Gen. Battery 2200mAh" and switched the polarity. I get as near as makes no difference to 30 hours playback on it and no ballooning.

I will also recommend the Cameron Sino. My first generic battery replacement with a Maplins one ballooned, then i got the CS one and had no problems whatsoever.

There are certain people on this forum who think that the make of bettery doesnt matter, well i beg to differ. get the Cameron Sino one.

Yeah my first one ballooned and it destroyed my hard drive (it was in the cradle for a few days before i realised it had ballooned ). I was told the battery was a newertech but i am not certain it was. I don't want to slander NT without good reason. I ran a replacement 'newertech' for a few weeks and it was fine, but when I bought the sino i put it in and have been using it since with no problems. I bought a 60gig drive on ebay to replace my dead 40... i figured I wouldn't be able to get another player that i like for the ~AU$200 i spent on new hard drive/battery.... and it was a nice upgrade
